City Councilor & Redevelopment Agency of Provo Chair Shannon Ellsworth


Shannon Ellsworth represents District 3 on the Provo City Council. She is also the Chair of the Redevelopment Agency of Provo.

Councilor Ellsworth has always been actively involved in community service. Prior to serving on the
City Council, she served the State of Utah on the Governor's Rural Partnership Board and in
the Republican Party. Locally she added her expertise to the Utah County Planning Commission, Provo City Planning Commission, and on Provo's West Side Advisory Group. As a City Councilor, she has been solving problems for citizens on everything from affordable housing to energy costs to conservation. Councilor Ellsworth volunteers with multiple non-profits and is a founding member of Conserve Utah Valley.

In her professional life she has spent the last ten years solving land use and infrastructure problems for local governments and is a certified city planner. Shannon attended Utah State University where she earned a degree in environmental planning, and later earned an MBA at Brigham Young University. She currently works for a global mining corporation and is fluent in Spanish after living in Chile for 18 months.
